You don’t need to bust out the measuring cups to properly portion out your food: A serving size of meat is roughly the size of a deck of cards or the size of the palm of your hand. This is the first Diet plan i have ever liked. Ummm, I m planning to follow it. I m a Gym person but due to my work commitments i m unable to dedicate my time ..I m disappointed the way my wight increases every time i quit Gym. Actually, i m going through PCOD problem. I m Gyming for 3 hrs, 5 times a week from last 3 and half years. But weight reduction is not in proportion with my hard work. Do u think, This diet plan will help me. I weigh 62 Kg, my height is 5-3″. Kindly suggest best to me as its my marriage in October and i want be as leaner as possible. HELP!!
Not far into the book they want you to listen to a infomercial. I learned that my doctor is a lying stinking jerk. Apparently he, and ALL doctors, know the secret of losing weight fast and easy but they, and their diet professional, do not want to share it or they will lose money when we get thin and healthy. I also learned that to lose weight I do not have to eat less or exercise more. It’s just bad science that taught us that rubbish…and again All doctors know this. The majority of overweight people are not overweight because of eating in excess or not exercising enough, it’s because they have chronic cellular inflammation.
I am very much over weight. I am 44 years. I have tried many diet plan but failed maximum after 3 weeks. My weight increase very fast and I do not have thyroid problem. I am not junk food lover but occassionaly I take. Being over weight my knees pain after I walk even with slow speed. So skipping and aerobics as mentioned by you will be difficult for me. So can this diet plan still work on me?

Triglycerides are a common form of fat that we digest. Triglycerides are the main ingredient in animal fats and vegetable oils. Elevated levels of triglycerides are a risk factor for heart disease, heart attack, stroke, fatty liver disease, and pancreatitis. Elevated levels of triglycerides are also associated with diseases like diabetes, kidney disease, and medications (for example, diuretics, birth control pills, and beta blockers). Dietary changes, and medication if necessary can help lower triglyceride blood levels.
Not much of a coffee drinker? Tea is also a natural diuretic, and types of herbal tea such as dandelion or fennel root can also lend a hand. In fact: When a recent study compared the metabolic effect of green tea (in extract) with that of a placebo, researchers found that the green-tea drinkers burned about 70 additional calories in a 24-hour period.

The common mistakes people make to lose weight section is decent, however I felt it was lacking. People make a lot more than just 3 common mistakes, which are crash dieting, too much exercise and checking weight too often. I'd like to see this section more fully covered because a better understanding of why these are bad, as well as other mistakes that weren't even mentioned, are going to help people make better choices in the future. Overall this is an important section that was sort of glossed over.
Cordain explains that high intake of fruits and vegetables is one of best ways to reduce chances of cancer and heart disease. He notes that protein has twice the calorie burning effect of fat and carbs and is more satiating than both. He explains that starch, fats, sugars, and salts together cause us to keep eating. So if we limit our diet to fruits and vegetables and/or meat, we’ll stop eating when we’re full. And if you stop eating when you’re full, you’ll lose weight and won’t get fat. And as you lose weight, your cholesterol will improve (regardless of what you eat). This all makes sense and can’t really be disputed. If you want to lose weight, the Paleo diet will get you there and probably quickly. But Cordain’s hypothesis applied to long-term health falls short.

The two diet options that are currently available are the Flex Plan and the Core Plan. The Flex Plan is an updated version of the POINTS Food System in which the goal is to stay within your recommended amount of points each day. The POINTS value for foods is calculated based on the food's calories, fat, and fiber. Along with your weekly POINTS target you are also given a "Weekly Allowance" to use for indulging or special occasions.
Shaping is a behavioral technique in which you select a series of short-term goals that get closer and closer to the ultimate goal (e.g., an initial reduction of fat intake from 40 percent of calories to 35 percent of calories, and later to 30 percent).
