Ok, so this is my third pure gym in the uk. I am going back to the review of the Edinburgh one because I may have been harsh. These gyms are convenient, low cost and best of all no contract Pros No contract (great for travelers like me) Lots of machines (power plates) Cons Stupid tvs everywhere playing crap music videos No sanitary wipes All in all good experience!

So our bodies are brilliantly programmed to convert any excess calories we eat into fat, and store it in our fat cells. Unlike the safe-deposit boxes you find at the bank, which are made of steel, fat cells are amazingly flexible. They grow bigger and bigger when excess fat is deposited into them, such as after a rich meal. And they shrink down to near-nothingness when we aren’t eating enough calories and so we make ‘withdrawals’ of fat to help feed the body.
While some of these problems still occur (notably the need for transfusions), experts say it's on a much smaller scale in the last few years. Fantastic, well equipped gym, that is great value for money. Highly recommended. Only fault and it's similar with most modern day gyms is they can be highly impersonal and for some intimidating! Best way to go beyond the status quo and get those 5 stars is to have real people casually helping out and advising folk, who might be new to it all. Radical idea! I know it means paying more salaries but the benefits of having spotters and specialists there in hand will mean more gym attendees in the medium to long term. My two cents worth!
