You just have to take it as it is. It isn't great, but you're paying at least £30 less than other city centre gyms. Unfortunately, this means that less 'nice' people frequent, and the changing rooms are pretty awful. The machines are also usually littered with well, litter, and aren't that clean. If I could afford to go elsewhere, I really think I would. But I can't. *sigh*.

I've been going to puregym Leeds since it opened and have not experienced what other reviewers have. I've not had anything stolen but saying that I do lock up my belongings..I think it's unfortunate that others may have been stolen from. In regards to the staff, they do get on with their business and whenever I've asked for help (and I've asked different members) all have taken time out even during busy periods, to help me out. Sometimes you just need to speak up. In regards to the mould and filth in the changing rooms, I've seen none of this. The gym is still relatively new with cleaners working most of the day. I tend to go in the mornings when it's quiet and the one time I've been on an evening it's been hectic and yes, the changing rooms were messy but that's because other people using the gym left their own rubbish lying about, rather than bin it. For the price of the membership I really can't complain!

Issues. They are very busy in the evenings, which is the best time for me, and clearly everyone else to go. This often leads to long waits for machines and equipment, also for the showers. As someone that doesn't gym often, I find gyms intimidating, with no staff to turn to for help, pure gym can be a little scary and confusing if you haven't planed what you are there to do in advance. Also some of the clientele can be boisterous, especially if you look a little lost! There is often issues with things being stolen in the locker rooms, I would advise keeping all your belongings locked up and out of sight just to be safe.

Watch out for instructors who do dozens of repetitions with light weights: You’re not going to build much strength or tone that way.
