Great no fuss gym, very affordable at only £18.99. Although I do like this gym, I have stopped going for the reasons below. I feel the need to note my reasons so you know what you're getting for the cheap price. Most of my issues with this gym are with the people who visit and not so much the facilities itself. The gym itself is great. As a person that isn't overly into my fitness the price is great. The layout of the gym makes it easy to navigate, there is a bit of running between stairs to get to equipment, but most of what I would use is on the same floor. The classes are easy to book with the app and are plentiful. Issues. They are very busy in the evenings, which is the best time for me, and clearly everyone else to go. This often leads to long waits for machines and equipment, also for the showers. As someone that doesn't gym often, I find gyms intimidating, with no staff to turn to for help, pure gym can be a little scary and confusing if you haven't planed what you are there to do in advance. Also some of the clientele can be boisterous, especially if you look a little lost! There is often issues with things being stolen in the locker rooms, I would advise keeping all your belongings locked up and out of sight just to be safe. If you aren't intimated by these issues, then pure gym is a great gym.

As of 24/09/18 PureGym has taken over what was once Soho! In Lewisham where I have been a member of for years! And was very happy with the level of service and facilities. Launch day there was pure gym staff everywhere in the gym but no one to assist those of us that had problems getting in with the new pin method! Before it was just a finger print! Once in the gym... I always wipe down the machines before and after I use them only to find all the tissues and hygiene sprays h...ad all been removed! Signs of a sharp instructor: Instructors should tell you to use moderately heavy weights so that you don’t do more than 15 reps per set. Watch out for instructors who do dozens of repetitions with light weights: You’re not going to build much strength or tone that way. The instructor should correct your form and remind you where you should feel the exercise. Watch for a warm-up and cooldown, too.
The classes are a bit daunting, not really  a great confidence booster for a first timer in the class, but if you are happy to just go in and get on with it.  Don't expect much help from the trainer in there they're just barking out orders.  There is a large volume of different types so plenty to choose from.  I recommend downloading the app and booking in advance as the popular classes tend to book up.
